SCHOOL ADMISSION PROCESS IN SINGAPORE - GIIS

GIIS Singapore offers a 21st-century learning experience with a choice of multiple international curricula and an Indian curriculum and focus on holistic development. Here we break down the school admissions process into five steps to help you get started.

Submit Registration Form

After you meet our admissions teams, you may complete the registration form.

(Students applying for GIIS scholarships will need to fill up the scholarship form. Our counsellors will guide the applicants and the shortlisted scholars through the entire admissions process, including the submission of the registration form.)

Pay Registration Fee

Once you submit the registration form, you will be prompted to pay a one-time, non-refundable registration fee to secure a seat and a provisional admission confirmation will be issued.

Documents Required

The following documents are required for generation of the E-contract.

(Please check the information shared and the fee details before hitting the ‘Submit’ button.)

Documents to submit:
● Birth Certificate
● Child’s recent passport size photo
● Immunisation record (for GMP and Primary grade)
● Copy of passport (both parents and child)
● Identification Cards (both parents and child)
● Transfer Certificate or School Leaving Certificate
● Any medical documents (where applicable)

Generate E-contract

After the one-time registration fee payment is done and the required documents are ready, you need to upload the documents to generate the E-contract.

Pay Term Fee

As the last step of the admissions process, parents are required to pay the term fee.

Student Recruitment Agents

We have Student Recruitment Agents to facilitate the process for international students.

As per the Singapore Law, students who are Singapore citizens need approval from the Ministry of Education (MOE) to study in an international school. The Admissions Office will submit a request to the MOE for such an approval, before the application can be processed for further review. Parents will be required to write a letter to substantiate their reason to choose an international school for their child.

Please note that in compliance with the requirements of CPE, GIIS is required to purchase insurance on behalf of its students to protect student fees. The coverage takes effect on the day of the fee payment. Students receive a soft copy of the Certificate of Insurance by email from the insurance provider and a hardcopy of the certificate from GIIS on request.

Frequently Asked Questions

The admissions process at GIIS Singapore is open year-round. After the enquiry is submitted, our admissions team will contact you to schedule a meeting with one of our counsellors. If your queries have been addressed in the admissions counselling, you may then proceed to submit the registration on our website. A payment of the registration fee is required to secure a provisional admission. Once you have generated the E-contract with the necessary documents, as a last step to the admissions process, you will be required to pay the term fee. This denotes the completion of the admissions process.

It is important to note that local citizens need permission from the Ministry of Education to study at an International school like GIIS.

Admission process starts in April and runs all year-round until the end of March the following year.

As part of the admissions process, you will be asked to submit relevant documents and certificates. The documents that you will need to present will depend on your child’s admission level.

Since our admission process runs all year, we offer parents and guardians the flexibility of submitting the application at any point in the academic year. However, we encourage you to submit the application early along with relevant documents as acceptance is subject to availability of seats.

Yes, students are required to take an assessment to determine their academic preparedness and determine their admission level prior to registration.

Yes, tours of sports facilities, laboratories, and other collaborative spaces will be included as part of the tour.

Unfortunately, parents and visitors will not be able to go inside the classroom since classes might be in session and this may cause disruptions.

Our campus tours last 45-60 minutes long. This is not including any information sessions, exhibitions, and meetings you may wish to attend during the campus tour. We do encourage parents and visitors to take advantage of the campus tour and attend as many events as possible to get a full experience of campus life and learn all about what we offer our students.

We are currently offering the option for parents and visitors to schedule a virtual tour. If you are unable to find an in-person tour date that works for you, then we encourage you to sign up for an immersive, virtual tour that you can take from anywhere!

Yes, you will have the opportunity to speak with current students during the campus tour. Normally, the campus tours are led by our campus ambassadors so they will be able to answer any questions you may have regarding student experience and student life. Also, many of our current students will be present at admissions events so you will be able to ask them questions at the end of the session.

There are many hotels nearby campus, some even within walking distance of campus. Please note that GIIS is not affiliated with any of the hotels and is not responsible for any third-party accommodations you arrange for the tour.

The admissions fees vary depending on admission level. To view the fees structure for your child’s particular admission level, please click here.

Registration fees and admission fees are completely different. Registration fees are paid when you submit your application to secure a seat at GIIS Singapore. Once your child has been accepted at GIIS, you will need to pay the admission and term fees before the beginning of the school year, and then quarterly in 4 equal instalments.

Yes, a seat is guaranteed after you pay the registration fee in full.

There are various scholarships available for students such as sports based, merit based, talent based, and means cum merit. To apply for a scholarship, please click here.

Fees are normally paid quarterly in 4 equal installments in April, July, October, and January. Therefore, GIIS does not have a monthly payment plan system in place for paying school fees.

You will need to upload your child’s birth certificate, proof of residential address, child’s recent passport photo, and medical certificate to complete registration.

There is no strict application deadline since our admissions process is open all year round. However, we encourage parents and students to apply as soon as possible since acceptance is contingent on seat availability.

It may take a few weeks for our admissions teams to evaluate your application. When your application moves to the next step, our admissions team will update the status directly on the portal. To know the status of your application, please log into MyGIIS Parent Portal.

Microsoft Word or Adobe PDF documents are accepted.

Yes, you may upload additional documents by revisiting your application status page. To ensure we have received your application, we advise you to email our admissions teams informing them regarding your additional document upload.
