School Admission Process
at GIIS Abu Dhabi
The pre-registration for the academic year 2025-26 will start from 7th October 2024 for the existing siblings and staff children across all grades and 1st November 2024 for non-GIIS students. As our current school capacity is full and an increase in capacity is pending for approval, the following admission seats will be available:
1. Kindergarten 1: 75 seats (allocated on a first-come, first-serve)
2. Kindergarten 2 to Grade 12: All seats will be placed on a waiting list (for existing sibling students, staff children, and non-GIIS students).
The admission seat confirmation will be done against the withdrawal received from the current students.
Priority for Admission
The school will prioritize admission for the following categories of students:
1. Existing sibling students
2. Staff children
3. Students coming from Corporate Connect Company partnership
4. Ex-GIIS Students
5. GIIS inter school transfer within UAE/outside UAE
6. Non-GIIS students
The school is not offering any sibling discount.

Online registration form
Instruction and Guidelines for Filling Online Registration Form
* Online applications for non GIIS students will only be considered from 1st November 2024. Admission form will be available under the admission tab from 9:00 AM (UAE) time. The application will be shortlisted on a first-come first-serve.
* The admission form needs to be filled for every new admission.
* Incomplete forms will be rejected.
* Ensure name and date of birth are as per the passport.
* Review the information above and ensure all fields are entered accurately.

Admissions Assessments
- The school will assess students through observation, interview (either in-person or via Zoom), and/or placement tests for grade 1 and above students. We will be conducting only Face to Face assessments for Pre -kindergarten, Kindergarten 1 and 2.
- These assessments are designed to understand the learning support required for prospective students

Provisional Admission Registration Fee
If parents wish to be placed on the waiting list, they can pay the provisional registration fee of AED 500 after the completion of the assessment.
- Refundable
i. If the school is unable to confirm the admission seat.
ii. If the parent wants to cancel the admission under the waiting list, mail has to be sent to the admission counselor with the reason.
iii. The refund process will be completed within 3-4 weeks.
- Non-refundable:
i. If the school grants the admission seat but the parent chooses not to take the admission..
ii. If an admission seat is offered and accepted, the fee will be adjusted against Term 2 tuition fee.

Document Verification and Payment of Tuition Fee
- Parents should upload the required documents when filling out the online registration form.
- The admission counsellor will verify these documents according to the admission document checklist.
- Following verification, an invoice will be raised.

ADEK Registrations
After payment is received, the admission counsellors will proceed with the ADEK registration process. The students are allowed to attend the school ONLY after receiving ADEK approval in eSIS system

When will I be notified of a decision?
While we cannot say an exact date for a decision, here is a timeline to give you a rough idea on our admission process. Our admissions counsellors begin reviewing all applications for the school at the beginning of January every year. You can view your application status on your applicant portal. Once we decide, our admissions counsellor will notify you via email and send an official acceptance letter via post.
How far in advance International students need to apply?
Since our admissions process is open throughout the year, we do not have separate deadlines for international students. However, we encourage all students, international and domestic, to apply as early as possible since seats are limited.

Absolutely, our admissions counsellors are available throughout the year to help you with the admissions process and answer any questions.
How long are the student counselling sessions?
Our student counselling sessions can last anywhere from 45 minutes to 60 minutes, depending on your needs.
Are guests allowed to come on the campus tour?
To maintain health and safety on campus, additional guests are not allowed on campus tours. Only parents or legal guardians are allowed to accompany prospective students on campus tours.
