Here is our list of scholarships for deserving students studying in or seeking admission to class 10 or higher grades:
1. Global FUTURE-READY Merit Scholarship
The prominent Global FUTURE-READY Merit Scholarship aims to transform students into global citizens and have better access to reputable universities and prevalent undergraduate programs of their choice. The scholarship applies to the CBSE curriculum for students enrolled from Grade 7-12.
An aggregate of 93 per cent or above (90 per cent or above for Grade 11-12) is required to become eligible for the GFRM scholarship. Selected students get a tuition fee waiver up to 9 per cent. The scholarship is offered for a tenure of two years.
The application process involves five steps: submission of the application form, uploading previous two years’ academic records and household income proofs, notifying shortlisted applicants within ten working days, assessment and personal interview round if applicable, and disbursal of scholarship to successful applicants.
2. Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Global Skills Scholarship
The Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Global Skills Scholarship, also known as the APJ Abdul Kalam Scholarship, recognises young students in the field of technology and the digital space and encourages them to learn more about technology.
● Category A Scholarship: The Category A scholarship is available to students nationally ranked amongst the top 10 students at the Olympiad by SOF/STEM Olympiad/Robotics Olympiad or the national first, the second, or the third prize winner at the annual competition of the National Children’s Science Congress and provides 9 per cent waiver on tuition fees for Academic Year 2020-2021.
● Category B Scholarship: The Category B scholarship allows 6 per cent waiver on tuition fees for students who are nationally ranked amongst the top 20 students at the Olympiad by SOF/STEM Olympiad/Robotics Olympiad; the national first, second or third position-holders at the annual competition of the National Children’s Science Congress; or part of the first ranking teams at the ISRO Space Quiz, NSS- National Space Space Settlement.
● Category C Scholarship: The Category C scholarship provides 3 per cent waiver on tuition fees for students nationally ranked amongst the top 30 students at the Olympiad by SOF/STEM Olympiad/Robotics Olympiad; the top 10 rankers at any national or international competitions run by giant IT companies such as Intel, Adobe, Google, and Microsoft, especially Google Science Fair; or the top 10 rankers at the national, state, and international levels of the Robot Olympiad, or part of the first two rankings at the ISRO Space Quiz, NSS- National Space Settlement.
Application Guidelines
Applications must be submitted with proper support documents for processing. All the applicants must be Indian citizens with representation at national, international, or regional forums categories mentioned above. They must have written a thesis, paper, published documents, or invented or innovated a tool or gadget related to artificial intelligence, robotics, virtual reality, app-making, coding, blockchain, and more. Relevant proofs of the thesis, paper, publication, instrument, tool or application is a must. They should have maintained excellent academic performance over the past two years and qualify a scholarship test and interview if applicable.
If you want to get started on the APJ Abdul Kalam Scholarship scholarship process, the first step is to submit the application form. In the application form, students need to upload all prerequisite documents, upload all relevant academic records from the past two years, and upload their paper, thesis, or published documents and their technology project documents. Successful applicants are notified via email within ten working days of submitting their application. The third step of the scholarship process involves assessment, while the fourth step of the process is the personal interview round if applicable. Finally, the scholarship will be disbursed among the selected students.
9GEMS Holistic Development Scholarship
The 9GEMS™ framework is an award-winning teaching pedagogy that seeks to help students meet the world’s changing needs. The framework is created to nurture students’ inherent strengths and moulds their personalities to make them more well-rounded global citizens. The scholarship is applicable to the CBSE curriculum from Grade 6-12, and the scholarship lasts for one year.
The Category A scholarship provides a 9 per cent waiver on tuition fees for students recognised in an international event in any of 9 GEMS skills. The Category B scholarship offers 6 per cent waiver on tuition fees for students recognised in a national event in any of 9 GEMS skills. The Category C scholarship provides 3 per cent waiver on tuition fees for students recognised in a state event in any of 9 GEMS skills. All the applications should be submitted with the right support documents for processing.
Only Indian citizens who have received national, international, or regional recognition in sports, community service, co-curricular activities such as visual and performing arts, etc., can apply. Students produce records of their academic performance for the previous and appear for an assessment and personal interview round, if applicable.
Submitting the scholarship application form is the first step of the process. It involves uploading relevant documents along with the online application form, including academic records of the past year and certificates. Any awards and supporting documents pertaining to any of the 9 GEMS categories, such as sports, performing arts, and co-curricular activities should also be attached. The successful applicants are notified via an email within ten working days. Scholarship assessment and personal interview round if applicable, are the third and fourth steps, respectively. Finally, the scholarship is disbursed to selected applicants.
Global Citizen Scholarship
The Global Indian International School (GIIS) provides the Global Citizen Scholarship (GCS) as a prestigious award to a limited number of deserving students from the region to grow and excel further in their academic endeavours. The scholarship applies to the CBSE curriculum for Grades 11 and 12. Students are required to hold 93% aggregate or above. The scholarship tenure lasts for two years.
The scholarship is granted on the basis of the performance in class 10 board exams, scholarship assessment and personal interview round. Selected students can get up to 100% waiver on tuition fee and hostel fees. The steps involved in obtaining the scholarship are identical to the other scholarship processes mentioned above.
